Character Guide
Raja / Raj "Cherry" (Ram Charan)
A confident Hyderabad youngster who makes a living from bets and has never lost one. He's raised by adoptive parents. When his adoptive father needs a liver transplant, Raja takes the riskiest bet of his life. He is unaware that he is the son of Rayadurga's murdered landlord, Suryanarayana.
Madhavi / Chaitra (Tamannaah Bhatia)
A medical student raised by her "uncle" Bawandar Bihari. She looks like the innocent target of Raja's bet, but she is the one who secretly set it up. She knows Bihari killed her parents and wants Raja's help to get justice. Tamannaah has said her character's layers "get revealed as the film progresses".
Bawandar Bihari / Bellary (Mukesh Rishi)
A brutal mining don and the brother-in-law of Madhavi's father. Greed for the iron ore under the family land drove him to murder two families. He raises Madhavi only to grab her inheritance.
James (Ajmal Ameer)
He appears to be Raja's rival and the man who offers the bet. In truth he is the son of Bihari's PA and has been protecting Raja and Madhavi all along. Ajmal said every character in the film is introduced through his character.
Dayanand / Baireddy (Kota Srinivasa Rao)
A corrupt minister and Bihari's partner in crime. He helped plan the Rayadurga murders for a share of the mine.
Naga Reddy (Dev Gill)
Baireddy's violent son, based in Dubai. He stabs James and kidnaps Madhavi. All his fight scenes are with Ram Charan.
Vijay Pratap / Raghupathi (Nassar)
Madhavi's real father, a business tycoon and Suryanarayana's best friend. He was killed for refusing to hand over his land.
Suryanarayana (R. Parthiban)
Raja's real father and a respected landlord of Rayadurga, seen in the flashback. Parthiban took the cameo after director Sampath Nandi explained how important the role was.
